Desert Flowers

I saw this tiny yellow flower at the mountain while on elk hunting.

I have seen other desert flowers before.

The tiny one caught my attention.

Aside from being yellow, my favorite color in roses, I admire its resilience.

Just look at its situation!

As if it is pinned down by the big rock. It is at the mercy of the rock.

Yet it survived. It has flowers. Beautiful tiny yellow flowers.

It brought joy to me when I saw it.

It took away my weariness after hiking for many hours.

At times some people are like that!

Even at difficult times they survive. They still try to shine challenging the adversity.

There are some people though who bow down to life challenges.

They let their problems defeat them.

Reason usually is “they are not strong enough”.

Mahatma Gandhi said, “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”

May we always remember it.

May we be like my tiny yellow desert flower.

Resilient.

Surviving.

Staying beautiful.

Giving joy to those who are weary.
